State of Bank of India Central Recruitment and Promotion Department, Corporate Centre Mumbai officials has issued Probationary Officers Recruitment 2017  Notification. SBI Officails invite applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers (POs) in Associate Banks of State Bank of India. Candidates selected are liable to be posted anywhere in India. The interested candidates can apply for 2,313 Probationary Officers posts through the prescribed format on or before 6th March 2017.

The application process for 2,313 State Bank of India (SBI) probationary officer (PO) jobs began 07.02.2017 to 06.03.2017.  The bank had earlier issued notification for these vacancies of the total 2313 vacancies, 1,010 posts are for general candidates, 606 jobs are reserved for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, 347 seats are for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 350 seats are for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates.

Candidates can apply for these vacancies from Feb 2nd to March 6th through online mode only.
The examination will be held in two phases: 1) preliminary and 2) main. The shortlisted candidates in the main examination will be called for a group discussion and interview. The preliminary exam will be conducted on 29th & 30th Apr and 6th & 7th May’17 and result will be declared on  17th May 2017.

Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Academic Qualifications: (AS ON 01.07.2017)
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 01.07.2017. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 01.07.2017. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Age Limit:
Age Limit (as on 01-04-2017): 21 to 30 years
candidates should not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2017 Relaxation of Upper age limit as per reservation rules mentioned in Notification.
OBC (Non Creamy Layer) Category Candidates: 3 years
SC/ST Category Candidates: 05 years
PWD Category Candidates: 10 years

Exam pattern: The main examination will consist of objective tests for 200 marks and descriptive test for 50 marks.

Pre-requisites for Applying Online:Candidates should have valid email ID which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/interview advices etc. by email.

How to Apply:
Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in . After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/Internet Banking.

Selection Procedure:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination which was conducted on 29, 30 April and 6, 7 May 2017 and Results announced on May 16. Call letters download from May 22
Phase-II: Main Examination will be held on 04-06-2016
Phase III: Interview

The recruitment process consists of three round: The prelims round, the mains round and the interview round. In order to reach the mains round, candidates have to clear the prelims round. The candidates who clear the mains rounds will then be called for the interview round. A short list of the successful interview round candidates will be selected for the PO post.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This
test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:

Phase – II: Main Examination:
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
(I) Objective Test: The Objective Test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 sections for total 200 marks. The Objective Test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test:  The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. Each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase – III: Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks):
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and the Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.
Candidates qualifying for GD & Interview under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.


Final Selection:
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GD & Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of
100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.Results of the candidates who have qualified for GD & Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank’s website. Final select list will be published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and also on Bank’s website.

Important dates for SBI POs Recruitment:
Result of the Preliminary Examination(Phase-I) to be held on 29, 30 April and 6, 7 May 2017 for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in SBI would be declared on May 17, 2017.  Candidates may download their marks from Bank’s website. the online main examination will be held on  June 4, 2017 at selected centers. Candidates shortlisted for the main examination(Phase-II) are advised to download Call Letter from the Bank’s website from 01-07-2016 onwards.

1. Preliminary exam dates: The first stage of recruitment or the online preliminary examination will be held on April 29, 30 and May 6 and 7, 2017.
2. Preliminary exam Results: The results of the preliminary examination will be declared on May 17, 2017.(Declared on May 16)
3. Main Exam: The online main exam will be held on June 4, 2017 and
4. Main Exam Results: Main Exam result will be declared on June 19, 2017.
5. Group exercises and Interview: The group exercises and interview will be held July 10, 2017 onwards, and
6. Final Results: The results will be declared on August 5, 2017.

Recruitment of Probationary Officers in State Bank of India SBI PO’s   Main Exam Results 2017:
 SBI has released an official notification mentioning that the SBI PO mains result 2017 will not be declared on 19 June. As per the schedule released by the State Bank of India, results for the PO main exam were expected on 19 June. However, taking the trend of prelims exam into consideration, it was also expected that SBI PO mains result 2017 can be declared a day before. Candidates had also started countdown for the result. The exact date of the result declaration is not available yet. The Bank has only deferred the earlier scheduled date for the result. Shortlisted candidates in the main examination will subsequently be called for a Group Exercises & Interview.
‘The result of Main Examination held on 4th June 2017 for recruitment of Probationary Officers in State Bank of India, which was tentatively scheduled to be declared on 19.06.2017, is under process and will be declared at a later date,’ reads the official notification.

SBI PO Final Selection List Rules:
a. Written test: Marks obtained are converted to out of 75
b. Group Exercises, Interview: Marks obtained are converted to out of 25
c. Final merit list is made after converting the ‘converted’ marks mentioned above out of 100 for each category.
