JEE main 2019 Eligibility, Exam dates, Application process: Joint Entrance Examination(Main) 2019: The Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) are conducted annually to select students for admission to various technical institutions across the country. They are held in two stages JEE main which is conducted by the NTA and JEE advanced which is held by a different IIT every year. The official notification of the JEE Main is likely to be out by the third week of November. Before it releases, here’s the five things you need to know about the JEE exams. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.  JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.


About JEE (Main) – 2019
The JEE (Main)-2019 will be conducted twice before admissions in the next academic session.
The students will have following benefits of the new pattern:
1. This will give one more opportunity to the students to improve their scores in examination if they fail to give their best in first attempt without wasting their whole academic year.
2. In first attempt, the students will get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and
to know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the second time.
3. This will reduce chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.
4. If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control, then he/she won’t have to wait for one full year.
5. The student’s best of the two NTA scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.


The first attempt of JEE (Main) – 2019 will be held in January, 2019 whereas the second attempt
will be held in April, 2019. The test will be held on different shifts/dates in both the attempts.
The NTA will release the application form of JEE (Main)-2019 for the first attempt in September,
2018 and for the second attempt in February, 2019.

The result of the first attempt of JEE (Main)-2019 will be declared by 31st January, 2019 and for
the second attempt by 30th April, 2019.

INFORMATION BULLETIN (1st Attempt) : JEE (MAIN) 2019
 Mode of Examination
JEE (Main)-2019 will be conducted in the following mode:
(a) Paper-1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only.
(b) Paper-2 (B. Arch/ B.Planning): Mathematics- Part I and Aptitude Test-Part II in “Computer
Based Test (CBT)” mode only and Drawing Test –Part III in “Pen & Paper Based” (offline)
mode to be attempted on drawing sheet.

Type of Examination
JEE (Main)–2019 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch.
/B.Planning). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch. /B.Planning.),
or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to.

Correction Facility for Candidates of JEE (Main) – January 2019
It has come to notice that many candidates have inadvertently submitted incorrect data in their
application form of JEE (Main) – January 2019. In order to ensure that the data of the
candidates of JEE (Main) – January 2019 is error-free and candidates do not face any hardships
later on, NTA is providing a One-time correction facility to the candidates in their Online
Application Form except change of city of examination.

The candidates are requested to pay the additional fee if that becomes due while making the
correction. The additional fee (if applicable) should be paid by the candidates through
Credit/Debit card/Net banking & UPI only.

The correction facility will be available on the official website of NTA www.jeemain.nic.in
during the time schedule as mentioned below: -
Start Date Start time :08.10.2018 (Monday) 10:00 a.m. 
End Date End Time : 14.10.2018 (Sunday) 11:50 p.m.





The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad. The candidates are advised to see the JEE (Advanced) website www.jeeadv.ac.in for information related to JEE (Advanced).

The NTA has released an information bulletin for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) mains 2018. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam can download the information from the official website (jeemain.nic.in). The exam will be in the computer-based mode form January 06 to 20, 2019. The entire application process will take place online and candidates will be required to upload their Aadhaar numbers in order to authenticate their identities.

Admission criteria for IIT:
The number of attempts for JEE Main is limited to 3. Admission criteria to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded technical institutions, institutions funded by participating state governments, and other institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The Paper 1 (BE/BTech) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.


Eligibility:
Candidates need to score at least 75 per cent in their class 12 board examinations or be in the top 20 percentile of their Boards to be eligible for JEE main or advanced. For candidates of the SC and ST categories, this has been lowered to 65 per cent. JEE advanced further requires that the candidates score high in JEE main and rank among the top 2,24,000 candidates. Joint Entrance Examination(Main) 2018: For JEE(Main)-2018, Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2016 or2017; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 are eligible to appear in JEE(Main)- 2018. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2015 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2019 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)  2018. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2015, did not pass in 2015, but passed in 2016 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2018.

Eligibility criteria:
The candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993. Candidates interested in applying need to be intermediate or class 12 pass from a recognised board and must have appeared and qualified in class 12th examination in 2016 or 2017 or should appear in the class 12 examination in 2018.

Aadhar mandatory: 
Moreover, NTA has made it mandatory to have an Aadhar card to apply for the exam. Candidates who already have an Aadhar card will have to enter their aadhar number in their application form. Those who have applied for their Aadhar but have not received it yet will have to provide Aadhar enrolment id in the application form.

Exam fee:
The exam fee ranges from Rs 1,000 for general category boys to 250 for the reserved category. For those appearing for both paper 1 and paper 2, the fee ranges from Rs 1,800 to Rs 650.
