Extending the scope of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2018, the Ministry of Animal and Farmers Welfare, MAFW and Veterinary Council of India has decided to use the examination for allocation of 15% All India Quota in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Degree courses. In a report published in TOI, the Veterinary Council of India has confirmed that the admissions to the 15% All India Quota in BVSc and AH Degrees would be done on the Merit List of NEET 2018. Candidates interested in applying for the course are required to fill the NEET 2018 online application forms. The applications for NEET 2018 would close on March 9, 2018.

AIPVT 2018: Application Form, Eligibility, Dates, Counselling & Admission: 
AIPVT 2018Veterinary Council of India (VCI) will organize admission procedure for providing admission to the BV. Sc. & A.H. degree programme. It is organized in name of AIPVT 2018. It is a national level admission procedure. From 2017, AIPVT was replaced by the NEET exam. Now, the admission to the veterinary courses will be done on the basis of NEET 2018 score. The admission into this course will be done under the 15 % All India Quota seats (except Jammu & Kashmir). Under 15% AIQ, total 434 seats are available. The statement from the ministry says, ‘All those students desirous to take admission to B.V.Sc & A.H. Degree Courses under 15% seats on All India Basis are hereby advised to appear in NEET (UG)2018 to be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 6th May 2018.’ Candidates are also advised to note that while there is no official confirmation from all the states, Karnataka has confirmed that the admission to the Ayush courses for the state would be done on the basis of the NEET 2018 scores.

The notice released by Veterinary Council of India has confirmed that NEET 2018 would be used for admissions to the courses during the 2018-19 academic course. This rule, however, does not apply to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Also, in addition to the above, the notice reads, ‘The other criteria for admission/selection of students of admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree course shall be as per Veterinary Council of India – Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education – Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016.’

NEET exam for veterinary courses  
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be held on May 6 for admission to Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BV Sc & AH) degree courses in recognised colleges for the 2018-19 academic year.

In a public notice, the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) on Wednesday said that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the NEET exam on May 6 for those seeking seats under 15% All-India quota.

The VCI, also mentioned that the merit list of the NEET (UG) 2018 will be used for allocation of seats under 15% All-India quota in recognised veterinary colleges for admission to BV Sc & AH course during the academic year 2018-19
