The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a notification announcing that Computer Based Tests (CBT) for recruitment of Level 1, Group D posts (CEN 02/2018) is likely to start from September 17. According to a statement posted on the official website of RRBs, the CBT for about 63,000 posts of Level-1 for jobs like Track Maintainers, Assistant Pointsmen etc., (erstwhile Group-D) will be held from September 17, 2018.

All candidates having CBT for Level 1 posts  who could not download e-call letter, have been sent SMS with centre details and an email with the link to download & print their e-call letter.

Candidates are advised to click on the link, print e call letter and to proceed to the exam centre with original photo ID, Passport size photo and attend the exam.

Notice to Candidates on Important Instructions

 The Reporting , Gate Closing and CBT start time for all the three shifts are as below

Candidates have to report well in Time.  CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED after GATE CLOSURE TIME.
2. Candidates must carry any one of the Original Photo IDs listed in the e- Call letter.
Candidates coming with PHOTOCOPY/XEROX OF PHOTO ID WILL NOT BE ALLOWED for
the exam.
3. Mobile phones, pager, watches, Bluetooth enabled devices, calculators, metallic wears,
bangles, belts, bracelets etc. are NOT ALLOWED inside the Test Centre.
4. Do not apply Mehandi/Henna on Left Thumb to avoid difficulties in registration.
5. The e-call letter is not having Self Declaration paragraph. The paragraph will be displayed
on the computer screen before start of the exam and candidate should write the same in
the space provided in the e-call letter in the exam lab only.
6. After selecting the option for a question in the exam, candidates must click SAVE and NEXT to save their answer. Unsaved answers will not be taken for evaluation.
7. Indulging in any type of malpractice /unfair means / misbehaviour / indiscipline /impersonation at the examination venue will lead to disqualification in the exam and  debarment from all future RRB Examinations & Appointment in Railways.

RRB Group D exams – Instructions to candidates

Further beware of touts and job racketeers as RRBs recruits candidates only on merit and shortlisted candidates for all stages till the recommendation for appointment shall be published on the official websites of RRBs only.
Candidates are advised to keep a check on the official regional websites and attempt a download once instructed. Candidates would be informed about the Exam Date and City from September 7 or 13 onwards. The First Stage CBT is tentatively expected to begin from September 17. Admit Card download information would also be released on September 7 or 13.
For RRB Group D exam, Indian Railways has announced the date sheet and the admit card release date. RRBs announced the final schedule for Group D exam. RRBs will begin the exam on September 17. Similar to the pattern followed in Group C exam, RRBs will release the Group D admit card four days before the exam date. RRBs have confirmed the group D exam date and admit cards for the same will be available 10 days before the date. The RRB group D admit cards will be available on the official websites of the railway recruitment boards (RRBs) as and when they are uploaded. Respective RRBs will intimate candidates about the group D admit card date through SMS and emails. Candidates are therefore suggested to check their inbox everyday for timely updates. Considering the rising search for RRB group exam date online, RRBs have requested candidates not to believe fake news about the exam date and admit card release.


Concerned candidates will receive group D exam date and admit card information on their registered phone number and email address.

RRB Group D Exam 2018 and Other Updates : Mock test link will be activated from September 10, a day after candidates receive their exam details. Registered candidates will be intimated about their exam venue, shift/ session and exam date on September 9; details can be found online by logging to the registration portal. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories can download the train travel authority on September 10. ‘Candidates should read the instructions on the e-call letter carefully and follow them scrupulously. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to cancellation of their candidature,’ reads the official job notification.
Admit cards must be carried to the exam hall along with valid photo ID like Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of eAadhaar, Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a Govt. Employee, School / College / University Photo ID card.

Candidates are further advised to note that the Centralized Employment Notice, CEN 02/2018 is now available on the respective regional RRBs. It is advisable to go through the notification carefully before filling the online application forms. Academic Qualification:
The applicant must possess a passing certificate of Class 10th or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or holding National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Age Limit: 
The applicant must fall in the age bracket of 18 to 31 years as on 1st July 2018. Age-relaxation is applicable as per government rules.

Scale of Pay
Candidates selected under the Railways Group D recruitment would get a monthly salary of 18,000 under the 7 CPC. Candidates would also get allowances permissible at the time of employment.

Application Fee:
Unreserved Category – Rs. 500
SC/ST/PWD/Women/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward/Ex-Serviceman – Rs.250
Application fee can be paid online and offline both.

Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted via Computer Based Test (CBT). Qualified candidates will undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Marks of CBT will be normalized.

Documents required to apply for RRB Group D recruitment : 
1. Coloured candidates photograph in JPEG format. Image size should be between 20 to 50 KB
2. Category or SC/ST Certificate for candidates seeking a free travel pass for the purpose of examination. Please note, general category candidates would not be provided with this facility. The category certificate should be in JPEG image format of size 50 to 100 KB. PDF document is not to be uploaded.
3. For candidates desirous of applying for the facility of a scribe, Scribe Photograph in color JPEG image format of size 20 to 50KB is also required.
